Should I keep my child home or send him to school? This is a question that at one time or another we all find ourselves asking this. With the fall comes cold and flu season. Below are some guidelines that might be able to help you decide.
School policy requires that a student be kept at home if he or she has the following:
Symptoms that will keep your student from participating or concentrating while in school, should also be considered. Parents and guardians, you know your child the best. Any symptoms that will keep your child from participating and concentrating while at school should be considered before walking out the door on school mornings. Some symptoms are:
24 Hour Rule
Cough medication, cough drops can be brought to the nurses clinic and with the proper documentation completed by the parent, be available for your student. We often have children coming to school who were sick at home, the prior evening or even in the mornings who have not met the 24 hour rule. Please help others from becoming sick by keeping your student home while they are the most ill.
